Creating a Yop poll question for your website
You can create a poll question on your website to keep visitors engaged,
and to gain valuable information about your team or league from your
visitors.
Create a new poll question
- On the WordPress dashboard, in the menu on the left of the screen, click Yop Poll.
- Click Add New.
- In the title field, type the title of the new poll.
- In the Question Text field, type the poll question.
- In the Answers field, type a poll answer.
- Click Add New Answer.
- Repeat steps 5-6 to add more poll answers.
- Click Next.
Change the appearance of the poll question
Once you create a new poll question, the Page Template screen opens.
- In the Template Width field, type 307px.
- Click Grey.
- Click Next.
- On the Poll Options screen, select Yes next to the following options:
- Display Results Link
- Display Back to Vote Link
- Click Next.
- Click Save.
A pop-up window appears with a short code for your new poll. Copy the number of the poll (for instance, yop_poll id="4").
Place the poll question on your home page
- In the menu on the left of the screen, click Pages.
- Click Home – Front page.
- In the Column section to the right of the Teams section, click the green Edit button.
- In the Column Text field, find the line of text that reads yop_poll id=“<number>”
- Replace <number> with the number you copied from the pop-up window.
- Click Save.
- Click Update.
- In the menu on the left of the screen, click Media.
- Do any of the following:
- To add a sponsor logo you already added as an image, click the image.
- To add a sponsor logo using a new image, click Add New, and then click Select Files. Select the images you want to upload and click Open.
- Copy the text in the URL field.
- In the menu on the left of the screen, click Pages.
- Click Home – Front page.
- In the Column section to the right of the Teams section, click the green Edit button.
- In the Column Text field, find the line of text that reads <img src=“{imageName.jpg}”>
- Replace {imageName.jpg} with the text you copied from the URL field in step 3.
- Click Save.
- Click Update.
